Career Wheel

My class conducted a career wheel activity before starting assessment 1 of this module. In addition, this includes skills such as ethical awareness, critical thinking, creativity, networked careers, digital literacy, problem-solving, ability to cope with change, diversity, and employability. Using the career wheel, we rate ourselves according to different attributes. As for me, most of my ratings are highly rated and average with only one attribute lacking, which is Career networked UK and internationally.

Before starting the activity, I felt good and ready to attend the class and listen to my module tutor. During the activity, I admit I was a little surprised because I was confused about how to rate myself based on the attributes. It has no metrics and criteria to follow, we just had to rate ourselves by thinking or based on our experience. I think others felt the same as me because the class can agree that criticizing yourself is not that easy. Not like having feedback from other people which gives people an opportunity to look at themselves based on the perspective of other people, which also can make them analyse themselves better (Marsh, 2018). After the activity I felt at ease even though it was only me who rated myself on those attributes, I felt that in some attributes I was certain that I am good. The activity was very eye-opening, it has opened my mind to what are my weaknesses and my strengths. Knowing your strength and weaknesses gives you insights into yourself and how you operate in different situations (Pillay, 2014).

The positive thing about the activity was I realized my strength and weakness based on the attributes. It gave me an understanding of which attribute should I improve and sustain. There was no negative situation in this activity as it served as a realization of weaknesses and strengths. In summary, the activity went well for me it helped me analyse myself better. The sense I could make about this is that I should never feel bad about situations like this, it all has consequences and positive outcomes. These types of activities do open your mind to different aspects of your life.

In conclusion, this activity helped me to analyse my weaknesses and my strengths. This can be used to make sure I improve my weaknesses while keeping on using my strengths as leverage in different situations. If I think of it there are better moves, I could have taken in this activity but I think it all happened for a reason. The reason is that I always need to be prepared to make me alert all the time and not be surprised by unexpected activities.

Being prepared for different situations can help me in various aspects of my life. Such as unexpected events and activities that I will encounter. I will improve those attributes that I lack and use my strengths as leverage for situations similar to this.
