Before the creation of the report, I first needed to find a person to interview, it was a very challenging task to find a person to interview, I asked every people I know if they know an accounting manager. It was hard since even my parents at first could not recall the person they know that is an accounting manager my dad also told me that their office accountant could not be interviewed due to time availability. So, I asked some friends yet they still do not know anyone. I was losing hope at this point. But then my dad recalls the person the accounting manager they know. So, I immediately reach out to them and they agreed to be interviewed.
Before finding the accounting manager I was still feeling optimistic that I can easily find an interviewee since my dad has a lot of connections. But during finding the accounting manager a lot of unfortunate situations happened so it made me anxious. But since I kept on going and kept on finding the accounting manager, I have successfully found one. Perseverance is an essential quality for success in life, it is more of an advantage to persevere than to have a raw talent (Schaffner, 2022). After finding an accounting manager I felt relieved because I can finally start my report.
The situation gave me various feelings of excitement, anxiety, uncertainty, and optimism. It was good because I learnt that I was a very emotional person. According to research the way how a person responds to stress is their real personality (Guerra, 2018). I did enjoy finding the manager as it was a very challenging task to do. I have fun more if I am doing challenging tasks than easy ones. Everything went well it was just my emotions that got the most of me during that time. The worst thing that happened to me during that time was the feeling of uncertainty and anxiety because I might not find a person to interview before the deadline.
Things went well because I never stopped finding the right person to interview. It went badly because of the uncertainty and indefiniteness I felt during the time that everyone was saying that they do not know any accounting manager. I think I could have made it easier if I talked to my tutor about the interview rather than my parents and my friends. Asking the right person is important, even if you asked the right question but it is not for the right person, I believe it will be useless.
In conclusion, I think if the task is to interview someone you still do not know and have to find. The best way to find the right person is to also ask the right person. I believe this can relate to a book I read the Atomic Habits by James Clear. Creating a chain reaction of good habits, is a domino effect, domino effect is when you change to one behaviour it will activate a chain reaction and cause a shift in results as well (Clear, 2016). So had I asked the right person then it is sure that I will get the right answer without feeling anxious and uncertain at the same time.
The knowledge I had learned in this topic can be applied to searching for insights from people, asking the right person is so important it will give an advantage to you as they always know the answer to your definite questions. In short, next time that this will happen I need to be more analytical to know which people to ask.
