I finally interviewed my chosen accounting manager; The person is a very private person they do not want their name to be in the report. It was a great interview, even though they are a very private person, I can say that they can converse well. The interview was unexpectedly great. I learned a lot from them and they inspired me to acquire the job I want. The only problem in this situation was I judged them too quickly because of their private life I thought that they are not very welcoming, but I realized that while conducting the interview they are welcoming.
Before the interview started, I was nervous because I did not know the person personally. I just heard of them because of my parents. But during the time of the interview, I had analysed that they were a good person. They are very welcoming and I felt very open to asking more questions them. After the interview, I felt good because instead of feeling nervous during the interview I was welcomed and I got to ask more questions regarding my challenges.
The interview went well and I could not say that there is a situation before, during, and after the interview that did not go well. I think the interview went well because of the very welcoming conversational skill of the interviewee; without that, it would be a very different situation. The only problem was I judged the interviewee before even starting to talk to them. You will not understand a person without talking to them first. Talking is very important as well, it will help you clarify whatever is going on in your mind (Talk Health Now, 2018).
In conclusion, I have learned to never judge a book by its cover, my judgement that my interviewee was very private made me think that the interview might go bad. Next time if something similar will happen to me I must not judge the interviewee instantly, but judge them based on our conversation.
The knowledge I acquired in this can be useful for my daily conversation with my network or even random people. I will improve on my conversational skills and always judge people based on the outcome of the conversation.
